1. My presentations suggestions were taken without question or argument from my PM.
2. Thought about not going to the gym, but decided I'd feel better if I went, so I did.
3. Red Sox sweep the Rays.

3 good things...
1. Fairness on display: my commute includes an extremely long light where the right lane is right turn only. As there was a traffic backup, 3 cars got into the right lane with no intention of turning, they just wanted to cut ahead of the backup. I hate when people do this because no only do they cut, but then they cause more backup when they have to merge in on the other side of the light. Well, today there was a police officer on the other side of the light. He pulled all three over and I loved it.
2. I looked nice today and received a few compliments
3. Survived second all day meeting in a row without killing anyone.
And 1 bad thing:
I lost battle of wills with the irresistible cupcakes sitting right in front of me at all day meeting.

3 Good Things....
1. The Red Sox take the lead against the Yankees (and add another run while I write this)
2. Found my missing pair of shoes (right where I left them.. at the gym)
3. Successful all day meeting at work. So successful that we won't have to continue the meeting all day tomorrow as originally planned.
1 bad thing:
lost battle with will power as there were donuts, cake, cup cakes and candy sitting in front of me in the all day meeting. I {heart} donuts.

3 good things...
starting early today, but I'm just so excited about what I just did which was:
1. Cleaned out my RSS feed reader. Between all the feeds I attempt to read, I must have had over 2000 unread posts. It was insurmountable and overwhelming. Well, I'm starting fresh and if I can't keep up daily, well... then I've got to unsubscribe. The absolute hardest to clean out was my NYT Review of Books feed. All those book reviews... will I ever read these fabulous books now? Well, still working on the 126 unread already in my home and then maybe I'll worry about that.
2. Finally returned items to Home Depot related to aborted replace the laundry room floor project (the skill set to pull that off doesn't exist in this house. Time to bring in a professional).
3. Worked out and ate healthy today which means I feel great.
And 1 bad:
there is no way I'll get through all the little to do projects on the imagined plate for today.

2 Days Worth
Couldn't post yesterday, so you'll get 2 days worth:
Today:
The Good:
1. Finding out I'm going to receive my office's equivalent of a gold star for doing a good job
2. Sent in the final payment on my car (weeee.....)
3. Took a few minutes to sit outside in the beautiful sunshine
The Bad:
I made a deal with myself that if I didn't work on Monday, I would work out today.. but I didn't (just too tired)
Yesterday:
The Good:
1. Having co-workers that I enjoying hanging out with outside of work
2. Somehow finding an outfit to wear after I forgot to iron the night before
3. I got 2 long standing items off my to do list
The Bad:
Being forced to make decisions at work that others should really make, but don't have the confidence

Three Good Things
My 3 good things for today are:
- getting through a presentation which should have been done by a co-worker who is on vacation, though he asked no one to cover for him
- realizing my dev team respects me when one of them said: there is always someone on every team where you think: if that person understands what I'm saying, I know it's easy to understand. You're not one of those people.
- I didn't fixate on a certain someone.
The bad..
- though I said I was going to spend more time on positive change and less time watching tv, I watched Super Nanny (even though I'd seen the episode before). I can't help it, I love Super Nanny!

Three Good Things - Day 1
everyday do something to move yourself in the direction you want to go... make the time..
Today I went to a lecture on successful women leaders. One of the suggestions was to embrace optimism. For those of us with natural pessimistic tendencies, an exercise was suggested: every night think of 3 good things that happened that day, and 1 bad (a ratio of 3 to 1). Keep doing it and you will start looking for the good things everyday.
Here are mine for today:
The good:
- feeling of accomplishment that I made the list of books I own that I want to read
- committed to leaving work at a reasonable time to get to spin class and did it
- starting this blog to track the 'New Me' Project
The bad:
- wanting to stab myself in the eye during an endless meeting on mindless minutia at work (note: this could probably be my bad every week day).
What do you want to change today?

Some of the Things I Want to Change
- lose weight (who doesn't, right?)
Here is the thing: I already eat well and exercise (hey spinners: holla!), but somehow remain stuck above my goal weight. Seriously: how much do I need to work out to lost just a little bit of weight?
- be a better photographer
I took a photography class in the fall, but haven't kept it up. Which leads me to:
- have better follow through
I have the best of intentions and then I get tired or busy or challenged and the result is:
- I want to watch less tv
Tivo is my downfall! Less tv would give me more time to:
So many books, so little time! I think I may need therapy to work through my book issues. Or is it books are my therapy? It seems I buy a book whenever I feel down, or need a lift or am unhappy and am looking for a change. In the spirit of acknowledging the problem and starting to develop a plan of attack, this evening I made a list of all the books I OWN that I haven't read (and usually I haven't read them because I'm too busy taking other books out of the library. Library books have to move to top priority because they have a due date after all!). Guess how many there were? Just guess? 129. And this is after I cleaned out my bookshelves over the weekend of books I know I'll never read. Sheesh!
The actual list of books to be published soon. Perhaps you'll help me prioritize?

One Day I Realized...
there is no 'someday'
'someday' starts today
starting today doesn't have to mean monumental change
take one small step and you're on your way
